Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction, relaxation and which also promotes healing of Mind, Body and Spirit.
Reiki practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above the person's body, the goal is to facilitate the person’s own healing response. Reiki is based on the idea that there is a universal (or source) energy that supports the body’s innate healing abilities.
Reiki is a compliment to more traditional western medicine and is provided by nurses, doctors and other health care professionals to promote healing.
Stress, trauma and illness produce blockages in the natural flow of Ki (chi) or "life force energy" through the body. Performing Reiki will relax and de-stress the body. This will restore the Ki to the body and support the healing process. Reiki will increase the blood flow to the area being worked on and work with the facia in the body to improve flow and communication. This often leads to pain reduction and relief, improved energy, less anxiety and an overall relaxed feeling.
In person sessions involve the client lying on a massage table fully clothes. The practitioner places hands on or above the body and allows Reiki to radiate from the hands. Sweeping motions of the hands, breath and vocal sounds may be used to help move energy blockages. Touching is not required for Reiki to work so a client has the ability to chose how they would like their treatment.
Remote sessions can be performed as well. A zoom session can be arranged with your practitioner. Using the power of intention and quantum physics one is able to experience Reiki remotely.

Energy Therapies in Advanced Practice Oncology: An Evidence-Informed Practice Approach Pamela J. Potter, DNSc, RN, CNS
findings from the first four studies discussed reported a positive benefit for oncology patients in the realms of quality of life and health function for women receiving radiation treatment (HT; Cook et al., 2004); fatigue and quality of life for patients who have completed chemotherapy (Reiki; Tsang et al., 2007); pain and fatigue in women receiving chemotherapy (TT; Aghabati et al., 2010); and improved mood and innate immune response preservation (HT; Lutgendorf et al., 2010). Patients treated with hands-on touch while receiving chemotherapy demonstrated improved comfort and well-being from actual as well as placebo treatments (Reiki; Catlin & Taylor-Ford, 2011). Human osteoblasts demonstrated increases in DNA synthesis and mineralization, while osteosarcoma-derived cells showed a verifiable decrease in mineralization (TT; Jhaveri et al., 2008).
